The Wild Calls and The Sun Answers speak across the space between them one gathering its energy in shadow, the other bursting toward the light. Charcoal, Acrylic, Oil a mixed media searches, color interrupts, and stems reach beyond containment. These are not still lifes. They are life refusing to be still.

My goal is to represent the essence of Maine coastal waters in encaustic painting by capturing scenes from the coastline of Southern Maine, and translating them into vibrant representations of movement and color.

The Deep End it inspired by a memory of visiting my aunt in Ogunquit. We went to the lookout pool and I sad on the edge as a children, so mesmerized with the water that I slipped right in!
